At Kyros Consulting Group, we deliver innovative IT and life sciences solutions that empower clients to scale and succeed. We are seeking a Backend Developer Intern to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for students and recent graduates who want hands-on experience in designing, building, and optimizing scalable server-side applications. You’ll work closely with senior engineers to gain exposure to modern backend frameworks, APIs, and databases.
What You’ll Do
As a Backend Developer Intern, you will:
- Develop and maintain server-side applications using Java, Node.js, or Python.
- Assist in designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Optimize database queries and schemas for SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) systems.
- Implement authentication and authorization flows (JWT, OAuth2).
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure robust backend services.
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and application errors.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless API integration.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments.
- Document backend processes, endpoints, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Strong foundation in Core Java, Node.js, or Python.
- Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and ORM frameworks (Hibernate, Sequelize, etc.).
- Understanding of REST API design and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git/GitHub).
- Problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Exposure to Spring Boot, Express.js, or Flask frameworks.
- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
